06/14/2002:

Yesterday (06/13/02) At roughly 4:30 AM our core router experienced a software failure. The configuration had to be manually restored.

5/20/2002:

Yesterday (05/19/02) at approxiamately 6:00 AM our email server experienced a lockup during routing maintenance. This caused some data corruption to the file system. A backup server was quickly phased in within 40 minutes, over 3 hours was spent trying to retrieve email boxes. A decision was made to restore services at this time and restore neccessary email boxes upon request as the process was taking too long.

Things went well during the NOC electrical upgrade, power from another floor was supplied. Down times were limited to less then 10 minutes total. One NAS had problems after a crash and had to be reloaded. A new gateway router was installed during this time period

1/8/2002:

I have not had to make an entry here in some time, this morning we had a problem with our link to the Internet. Our routers com port went down, which made the T1 circuit fail. UUnet/Worldcom thought the problem was on their end and after running complete diagnostics handed over the job to us. I replaced the router with a backup unit. A new primary router is being flown in from Dallas and will be phased in upon arrival.

This Summer:

Many of our servers were replaced with brand new units.

2/7/2001:

We will be adding a new modem bank this afternoon. We expect little down time.

2/2/2001:

We are aware that some of our customers are having problems connecting or you can connect but can not go anywhere. We are working as fast as we can to resolve this problem. We apologize for any inconveince this may cause.

1/19/2001:

It has been quite a while since we have had to make an entry here, our email server is to be upgraded this week. Several modem bank additions have been un-reported, sorry too busy keeping things running!

3/28/2000:

We replaced a 24 modem bank today, it was intermittantly not accepting calls. We also added a back up bank. Upgrades were performed on the email server software today as well.

3/13/2000:

A partial fiber cut in San Antonio early this morning caused some busy signals. The damaged circuit would not allow the normal amount of call traffic.

3/11/2000:

Telco services were down for 1.5 hours early Saturday morning. Upgrades were being performed to the fiber switch. This resulted in fast busy signals for the duration of the upgrade period.

3/2/2000:

24 more modem ports were added to allow for future growth.

1/16/2000:

The upgrades are complete, 48 ports were added and the backbone was upgraded.

11/5/99 8:00 PM :

We increased our modem pool today to keep with our no busy signal policy, there was some down time while reconfiguring the servers. Sorry for the inconvenience.

5/16/99 8:20 PM :

On Sunday mornings if changes have been made during the week, we do complete system backups.
