How do I clear the list in the Location bar?

• Open Netscape Navigator
• Click Edit (at the top)
• Select Preferences
• Click Navigator.
• Click the "clear location bar" button.
• Click OK...Note the "clear history" feature is on this page as well.

How do I configure my email?

• Open Netscape Navigator
• Click Edit (at the top)
• Select Preferences
• Click the + sign next to Mail & News Groups
• Click on Identity
• Enter your name as you wish it to appear in your email.
• Enter your email address username@devtex.net with username being YOUR username.
• In the "reply to address" field enter your email address.
• Click the "mail servers" on the left.
• Incoming mail server should be mail.devtex.net if it is not already set click add
• Server type is pop3 server, you may check the remember password box.
• Make sure you fill in your username.
• Decide if you wish to save your password.
• Click the Pop tab and make sure the leave messages on server box is unchecked.
• Click OK. These settings may be changed by clicking the edit button.
• Outgoing mail server is mail.devtex.net
• Make sure your username is properly typed in the "outgoing username" field.
• Click OK and you are ready to use Netscape email.

How do I check and send email?

• Click on the second icon from the left, inbox is displayed on mouse-over. This will launch the Netscape inbox.
• You should be prompted for your password on first launch, if you selected remember password it will not prompt you in the future.
• The email program should automatically check your email if you saved your password, else click "get msg" to check your email.
• To create an email message click on the "new msg" button. The composition window opens.
• Enter a valid email address in the "to" field. A valid address has to be in the username@domain format. Think of a domain as a country, when sent the email server first contacts the domain, such as devtex.net....then it queries the server for the username. If the username exists the email is delivered.
• It is a good idea to put something in the subject line:)
• Write out your email and then click send.
• If something comes up you may save the unsent email, it will be saved as a "draft'

I saved a "draft" now how do I send it?

• Open the Netscape Inbox
• Click on drafts, they will appear on the right in the top box (after you click on the draft icon).
• Double click on the draft you want to send.
• Review it and when ready click the send button.

How do I change the "Homepage" in Netscape?

• Open Netscape Navigator
• Click Edit (at the top)
• Select Preferences
• Click Navigator
• Here you can choose how Navigator starts, with a blank page, home page, or last page visited..click the desired choice.
• Below these settings are the Home page settings you can type in the home page location of your choice here, or if you are presently at the site click "use current page"
• Click OK.

I want to load my Netscape email program as my default not the browser, how do I do this?

• Open Netscape Navigator
• Click Edit (at the top)
• Select Preferences
• Click Appearance.
• Select Messenger.
• Click OK.

How come I keep having a "disconnect box" pop up?

• This setting believe it or not is located in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
• Version 4.0 Click View.
• Click Internet Options.
• Click the connection tab
• Next to the connect to the Internet using a modem, Click the settings button.
• Uncheck the Disconnect after ? minutes box.
• Click OK and retest.
