Setting up your computer to connect to S & L Internet

These directions are for setting up your dial up profile manually, you may choose to simply load our CD which will configure these settings automatically. If you do not have the latest CD please contact us.

Windows 95 and 98:

Please reference and print these prerequisites

• Double click "My Computer"
• Double click "Dial up Networking"
• Double click the "Make new connection" Icon.
• Name the connection S & L Internet or as you see fit
• Click next
• Enter the dial up phone number- Phone Number list
• Click next
• Click finish
• Place your mouse over the newly created icon and right click once.
• Select "Properties"
• Make sure the "Use Area Code and Dialing Properties" box is UNCHECKED.
• Next click the "Server Types" tab.
• Check "Enable Software Compression" and "TCP/IP"
• Make sure that only these two boxes are checked...uncheck any others.
• Next click the "TCP/IP Settings" tab or button
• Select "Server Assigned IP Address" and "Server Assigned Name Server Address"
• Check the "Use IP Header Compression" and "Use Default Gateway on Remote Network"
• Click ok
• Reboot your computer.
